The Gardens
The award-winning gardens at Abbington Green were designed according to English tradition. Find your oasis as you wander down boxwood-lined paths past rose-drenched pergolas and classic fountains, with greenery on every side. Seven distinct areas showcase flowers, vegetables, and shrubs harmoniously in keeping with the gorgeous surroundings of Western North Carolina. These immaculate gardens provide year-round interest, especially when butterflies arrive!
“The yard is a gardener’s paradise, with seven garden areas that are certified wildlife gardens.”

The Spa
A day out and about in Asheville can wear out even the most intrepid traveler. Luckily, Abbington Green features a luxurious spa designed to relax both body and mind. Whether you’re pampering your guests or treating yourself to a little “me time,” the Abbington Green spa is the home amenity you never knew you needed.
Gourmet Kitchen and Dining
The home features a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need to prepare gourmet meals. There are 16 full sets of dinnerware to choose from for service! The dining room is a special place for guests because our breakfast – made primarily from organic and local ingredients – is served here each day. The room is a comfortable 21’X 14’ with two sets of 10’-wide windows and two large dining tables where guests gather. A 12-arm brass colonial-style chandelier hangs in the center of the room. The stunning original, quarter-sawn oak mantle with free-standing columns with over mantle and mirror add to the sense of history of this home. The “Butler’s drinks station” topped off with a beautiful “Peacock” polished stone counter is located near the kitchen. A hot beverage maker, refrigerator with cold beverages and cream, fresh, homemade baked goods plus an ice-maker are available to everyone, any time of day. Guests also enjoy dining on the front porch when weather permits, to soak in the mountain air.
The Living Room and Social Hour
The living room is a lovely and comfortable space that measures about 30′ x 17′, has a ten-foot high ceiling boxed with large crown moldings into three bays. In the center bay hangs the original Dining Room chandelier, a 4-light Arts and Crafts style piece made of solid brass. The room has two sets of large windows, each set consisting of three windows. The large center window is a “12-over-one”, while the two side windows are “6-over-one”. Almost every pane is original and you can see the waves in the old glass. The room faces south and west, so it’s always bright, particularly in the afternoon. Along the east wall is a large, original brick fireplace done in the Arts and Crafts style that was first popular in England in the 1880s. Two large comfortable sofas and wing chairs beckon you to sit and relax, and our 5pm Social Hour always begins here in the Living Room.
